HUSSL.
Chairs and tables. Made at the Umlberg.
We love creating distinctive furniture. That’s why we collaborate with designers to develop seating and tables that are full of character, comfortable, and functional. They integrate subtly into the architecture while also shaping the space through their presence. In our designs, we combine the qualities of wood with traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing technologies.
Designed for special spaces.
The story of HUSSL began 1976 with a simple idea: to manufacture high-quality seating furniture with a distinctive identity. Over the decades, this idea evolved into a company that is still driven today by a passion for wood, construction and good design.
What drives Hussl is not rapid change, but continuous development. Furniture is created with the ambition to remain relevant over the long term — functionally, aesthetically and in terms of quality. The connection between traditional craftsmanship and modern technology plays a central role in this approach.
Today, digitalisation and automation are naturally part of the production process. At the same time, a high level of in-house craftsmanship remains an essential part of the company’s identity. Because true quality emerges where material understanding, experience and precision come together.
An important part of Hussl’s philosophy is the close collaboration with designers and architects. Together, furniture is created that appears understated yet possesses a strong personality — developed from the possibilities of the material and the demands of contemporary architecture.
Hussl also sees sustainability not as a short-term trend, but as a long-term responsibility. Regional supply chains, wood from sustainably managed forests and continuous investment in energy-efficient production are a natural part of this philosophy.
For more than 20 years, Hussl Möbel has been led by Peter Hussl as the second generation of the family business. The vision remains clear: to create furniture that endures — in its quality, its design and its origin. Rooted in Tyrol and open to the future.
Wood is the central material at Hussl Möbel — not only as a raw material, but as the foundation of the company’s entire philosophy. Its natural presence, warmth and unique structure define every piece of furniture, giving it character and longevity.
Hussl primarily works with local and European woods sourced from sustainably managed forests. The careful selection of materials is an essential part of the company’s commitment to quality. Every type of wood has its own characteristics, grain and colour nuances, which are respected and intentionally integrated into the design process.
At Hussl, furniture is not created against the material, but together with it. Construction, proportions and surfaces are developed in a way that preserves the natural qualities of the wood and allows its individuality to remain visible. Small variations in texture and colour are not imperfections, but an expression of the authenticity of the material.
The production process combines traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing technology. Precision CNC machining, digital production processes and meticulous hand-finishing work together to ensure the highest standards of quality and durability. Many steps are intentionally completed by hand — from sanding to final inspection.
Hussl also places great importance on natural and long-lasting surface treatments. The goal is to create furniture that endures for many years and gains character over time.
The close connection to in-house production allows Hussl to maintain complete control over quality and craftsmanship while ensuring responsible and sustainable manufacturing — made in Tyrol, with short transport routes and a conscious use of resources.
